The bill went no further than committee, but both of its operative changes became law as section 6506 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026, signed February 3, 2026: the definition of a family caregiver changes from an unpaid adult to an unpaid individual, in the same words, and the program's funding runs through 2030, for fiscal years 2026 through 2030 rather than the 2025 through 2030 her bill proposed.
