He is one of four plaintiffs, with the Republican National Committee, the state Republican Party and state Sen. Anthony Bucco, in a federal suit filed September 22, 2026 under the National Voter Registration Act's public records provision. The defendants are Secretary of State Dale Caldwell, who is also lieutenant governor, and election officials in Bergen, Middlesex, Hudson, Union and Somerset counties.

Limit: The governor is not a named defendant; the suit names her secretary of state, who runs elections, and five county officials. It seeks voter-list maintenance records, including records of people removed as non-citizens; it does not ask which elections they voted in. The court has not ruled.
