On March 3, 2025 he voted Yea on cloture on the motion to proceed to S. 9, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025, which would have Title IX athletics recognise sex based solely on reproductive biology and genetics at birth. Cloture was not invoked, 51 to 45, short of the 60 needed (Roll Call 100), and the bill has had no vote on passage.
