    Full detail

His campaign says he worked across the aisle in the Legislature to protect access to the abortion drug mifepristone. HB 2811 of 2022 would have made it a class 3 felony to prescribe, dispense or sell an abortion medication, defined to include mifepristone. It failed on the House floor 28-31 on February 24, 2022. He voted No, and so did three Republicans: Regina Cobb, Joanne Osborne and Michelle Udall. In 2021 he voted against SB 1457, which became law and bans providing abortion pills by courier or mail; it passed the House 31-29 on party lines. Limit: The votes are on the record; his part in persuading anyone is not. The campaign does not name a bill. Of the two, only the HB 2811 vote was across party lines.
