Guns

In short

Beltran's campaign says his pro-gun record is perfect. Castor's 2019-2020 House office page backs background checks on all gun sales; Lambert's campaign opposes gun bans and backs permitless carry. On the record, Beltran voted for Florida's 2023 permitless carry law. None of the 2024 bills he backed to lower the gun-buying age or end emergency red flag orders became law, and this site did not check every gun vote.

    Full detail

His campaign says he has a perfect pro-gun record: no red flag laws, no magazine bans, no compromise. He voted Y in 2023 on carrying a concealed handgun without a license, which passed 76-32 and became law. In 2024 he co-introduced two gun bills that passed the House with his vote and died in the Senate: one lowering the age to buy a gun, 76-35, and one ending automatic gun limits during emergencies, 86-23. He also filed his own bill to allow open carry and delete Florida's emergency red flag orders; it died in subcommittee. Limit: "Perfect" is a rating claim; this desk did not read every gun vote of his six years. None of his 2024 gun bills became law.
