Evidence timeline
official action
She voted for two House energy bills that did not become law, two rule repeals that did, and the 2025 law requiring oil and gas lease sales.
Her campaign says it will end regulations that increase the cost of energy and support oil and natural gas jobs. She cosponsored the Lower Energy Costs Act and voted Yea when it passed the House 225 to 204 on March 30, 2023. She voted Yea on the Protecting American Energy Production Act, which would bar a president from banning fracking without Congress, when it passed 226 to 188 on February 7, 2025. Neither became law. In 2025 she voted for two resolutions that struck energy rules and became law: one on EPA's waste emissions charge for oil and gas systems (H.J.Res. 35, Public Law 119-2) and one on Energy Department efficiency standards for commercial refrigerators (H.J.Res. 75, Public Law 119-9). The 2025 reconciliation act she voted for twice, Public Law 119-21, requires onshore and offshore oil and gas lease sales (sections 50101 and 50102). Limit: Two of these bills did not become law; the two rule repeals and the leasing sections did. Her votes on the reconciliation act were votes on the whole act. A roll call does not show what a law does to energy prices or jobs.
