Issue record
In short
De La Cruz's campaign backs fewer farm rules, opposing tariffs that keep farmers from new customers, and repaying ranchers for border-crossing damage. Pulido's campaign says tariffs and trade wars raise costs and farmers need fair, open trade. De La Cruz voted against ending the Canada tariff emergency and filed a bill, which has not moved, to raise tariffs on Mexico over water. Her campaign names no specific tariffs, so the record does not settle this.

Evidence timeline
campaign position
She opposed ending the Canada-tariff emergency in February 2026 and filed a water-linked Mexican-duty bill. Her campaign does not identify which tariffs it means.
Her campaign says it will oppose tariffs that keep American farmers from reaching new customers. On February 11, 2026 she voted Nay on H.J.Res. 72, which would end the national emergency behind the tariffs on Canadian goods ordered in Executive Order 14193. It passed the House 219 to 211 and was referred to the Senate Finance Committee. On May 29, 2026 she introduced the WATER for Farmers Act, which would have the Trade Representative raise duties on Mexican imports while Mexico falls short on treaty water, and pay the money to South Texas farmers. Why there is no verdict: The plank does not say which tariffs it means. Her vote and her bill concern tariffs the United States imposes; whether they keep farmers from customers depends on what other countries do in return, and no record here measures that. Limit: The issue page is undated and may predate these tariffs. One vote and one bill that has not moved; the owner decides whether this card runs.
