What the record shows ·
Section 83002 of Public Law 119-21 creates Workforce Pell Grants from July 1, 2026, for job-training programs of at least 150 but under 600 clock hours, lasting at least 8 but under 15 weeks, that the state's governor and the Education Department approve. The same law ends regular Pell grants from July 2026 for students whose student aid index is at least twice the maximum grant, or whose non-federal grants cover their full cost (sections 83001 and 83004). He voted Aye on the final bill (Roll Call 190).
Limit: Workforce Pell starts with the 2026-27 school year, and a program qualifies only after state and federal approval. The same law narrows regular Pell for some students.
