Constituent cases and money returned to the district
What they say
In his closing remarks, Lawler said he had closed over 10,000 constituent cases and brought more than $120 million back to the district.
What the record shows
His January 27, 2026 office release reports over 8,000 cases closed and more than $39 million for Hudson Valley residents since January 2023. A January 30 release repeats the case milestone and reports $40 million through casework. Those earlier dated statements establish what his office reported at those cutoffs, rather than an independent audit of the September debate totals.
Why there is no assessment here
Over 10,000 closed cases and over $120 million remain later office assertions without a public dated reconciliation. The debate does not define the $120 million as casework alone or distinguish grants, appropriations, obligations and cash. Earlier smaller and narrower figures do not disprove later growth. Cases are not necessarily distinct people, and closed does not necessarily mean a successful recovery. Private constituent files were not requested or inspected.
