A U.S. Attorney's release of July 30, 2024 names him as the prosecutor of a smuggling ring that moved 2,459 migrants and laundered $2.9 million. Its two leaders were ordered to serve 240 months in federal prison. The release says the judge agreed it was one of the largest alien smuggling takedowns the district had seen in recent history.
