In short
Evans's House office says everyone should have access to care and insurance, including for pre-existing conditions. Rutinel's campaign would expand Medicare drug-price negotiation, cap insulin at $35 a month and protect abortion access. Wood's campaign lists no health-care position beyond Medicare on the pages checked. Evans voted for the 2025 law's Medicaid work requirements and a House Republican premium bill now in the Senate, and against extending marketplace premium credits; his statement names no bill.
Campaign positions
Says everyone should have access to quality care and insurance, including for pre-existing conditions, and backs drug-price transparency and free-market competition.
Would expand Medicare drug-price negotiation, cap insulin at 35 dollars a month for everyone, curb surprise billing and protect abortion access.
No statement on health care beyond Medicare was found. His campaign site (home, bio and donate pages), the Libertarian Party of Colorado's candidate list and CPR's voter guide say nothing more.
Evidence timeline
campaign position
He backed Medicaid work rules and a House bill whose group plans cannot deny coverage for pre-existing conditions, but opposed extending premium credits. Coverage effects are estimates.
His office says he appreciates how important it is for everyone to have quality care and insurance, including for pre-existing conditions. He voted for H.R. 1 in May and July 2025 (Roll Calls 145 and 190). The law requires states to set Medicaid work requirements for certain adults (section 71119). In December 2025 he voted Yea when the House passed H.R. 6703, the Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act, 216 to 211 (Roll Call 349). It would let groups of employers offer association health plans, which could not deny coverage for a pre-existing condition, and would fund cost-sharing reduction payments from 2027; it is in the Senate. In January 2026 he voted Nay on the discharge motion and on passage of H.R. 1834, which would extend the enhanced marketplace premium credits (Roll Calls 4 and 11); it is on the Senate calendar. Limit: The statement names no bill or measure. His votes went for tighter Medicaid rules and for the House Republican premium bill, and against extending the premium credits. Neither H.R. 1 nor H.R. 1834 changes the pre-existing condition rules. How many people lose or keep coverage is an estimate, not a record.
