    Full detail

His House website says he helped introduce the Pre-existing Conditions Protection Act. Greg Walden of Oregon introduced the Act in 2017 (H.R. 1121) and again in 2019 (H.R. 692). Huizenga cosponsored both, joining five days after the first was introduced and nineteen days after the second. Neither left committee. Limit: He was a cosponsor, not an original one, which this site counts as helping introduce. He was an original cosponsor of a 2018 resolution and two later bills to keep these protections.

  2. Occurred Sep 3, 2013

    official action

Sean McCann: Matches stated record claim

    Full detail

He says one of his proudest votes in the Legislature was to expand Medicaid to more than a million people in Michigan. As a state representative he voted for House Bill 4714, the Healthy Michigan Plan, when it passed the House on June 13, 2013 (76-31), and again when the House approved the Senate's version on September 3, 2013 (75-32). It became Public Act 107 of 2013 and covers adults with incomes up to 133% of the poverty level. Limit: The vote is on record. The figure of over a million people is enrollment over the years since, which this desk did not check.
