Pulido's campaign backs strengthening both, lower health and drug costs and keeping rural hospitals open. Evidence timeline

What the record shows.

  1. Occurred Feb 3, 2026

    official action

Monica De La Cruz: Matches stated record claim

Her veterans housing bill was signed in January 2026, and the SPEAK Act's text became law word for word inside the February 2026 spending act.

    Read the full check

    Full detail

Her House office lists the SPEAK Act and the Disabled Veterans Housing Support Act among new laws she led in 2026. Both are law. Her SPEAK Act (H.R. 2092) never moved past committee under its own number, but its text was enacted word for word as section 6213 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026, signed February 3, 2026 as Public Law 119-75; she voted for that act twice. It orders HHS guidance on interpreters and telehealth for patients with limited English. Her Disabled Veterans Housing Support Act (H.R. 224) passed both chambers and was signed on January 20, 2026 as Public Law 119-70. Limit: The SPEAK Act became law as one section of a large spending act, so her votes on it were votes on the whole act. The section orders guidance; it does not require providers to follow it.

  2. Occurred Jan 5, 2025

    official action

Monica De La Cruz: Matches stated record claim

She cosponsored a bill to keep Social Security and Medicare paid in a debt-limit standoff, which got no vote, and the Social Security Fairness Act, now law.

    Read the full check

    Full detail

Her campaign says she cosponsored legislation preventing cuts to seniors' benefits. She cosponsored H.R. 875, the Protecting Social Security and Medicare Act, from June 30, 2023. It would let the Treasury keep paying Social Security and Medicare benefits in full and on time if the debt limit is reached; it never got a vote. She also cosponsored the Social Security Fairness Act and voted Yea when it passed the House on November 12, 2024. It became Public Law 118-273 on January 5, 2025 and ended two rules that reduced some public-service retirees' benefits. Limit: The claim does not name a bill; these are the two cosponsorships in her record that fit it. H.R. 875 deals with missed payments in a debt-limit standoff, not benefit levels; the Social Security Fairness Act raised benefits rather than preventing a cut.
