What they say

Her House office lists the SPEAK Act and the Disabled Veterans Housing Support Act among new laws she led in 2026.

“SPEAK Act: Establishes language communication best practices for healthcare providers and patients”

What the record shows · Feb 3, 2026

Both are law. Her SPEAK Act (H.R. 2092) never moved past committee under its own number, but its text was enacted word for word as section 6213 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026, signed February 3, 2026 as Public Law 119-75; she voted for that act twice. It orders HHS guidance on interpreters and telehealth for patients with limited English. Her Disabled Veterans Housing Support Act (H.R. 224) passed both chambers and was signed on January 20, 2026 as Public Law 119-70.

Limit: The SPEAK Act became law as one section of a large spending act, so her votes on it were votes on the whole act. The section orders guidance; it does not require providers to follow it.
