His campaign's issues page reaches education through its section on conservative principles, which says he will stand with President Trump to defend the unborn, protect gun rights and defeat what it calls the radical transgender movement putting men in girls' sports and woke indoctrination in classrooms, and through its section on the Democratic candidate, where it says he will protect parental rights. It proposes no schools, funding or curriculum measure.
His campaign's education section is the longest on his site: grants for evidence-based reading and mathematics instruction, expansion of teacher-training programmes, opposition to federal private-school voucher programmes, universal pre-kindergarten for three- and four-year-olds with protection for Head Start, protection of federal special-education oversight, career and technical pathways from middle school, expansion of the school lunch and breakfast programmes, and guidelines for the use of artificial intelligence in classrooms.
His campaign would abolish the federal Department of Education, which it says educates nobody and only imposes regulation on local schools, and would replace vouchers with tuition tax credits for anyone paying a child's private-school fees, on the argument that vouchers would lead to government control of private schools. He supports charter schools and home schooling and calls for "the complete separation of school and state".
