    Rebecca Cooke: Matches stated record claim

    Her campaign says she started a nonprofit that has helped over 70 small businesses create local jobs, and that she served on the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation board, aiding in the success of rural businesses. The Wisconsin State Legislature records the appointment: Rebecca Cooke, of Eau Claire, Private Sector Representative on the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, read and referred on February 8, 2019. The committee recommended confirmation on February 20, 2020 by Ayes 5, Noes 0. The Governor withdrew the appointment on October 13, 2021. Limit: The state's record establishes that she held the seat and for how long. It records nothing about what she did in it, so the second half of her sentence — aiding the success of rural businesses — is not something this record can test either way. The nonprofit figure is separate and is not checked here.
