What they say

His House office says he secured 2.5 million dollars to rebuild Chandler Road in Clinton County through the government funding bill signed into law in February 2026.

“the site of a future road repair project for which he secured federal funding through the bipartisan appropriations bill that passed Congress in February and was signed into law”

What the record shows · Feb 3, 2026

The House explanatory statement for the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026 lists 2,500,000 dollars from HUD's Community Development Fund for the Clinton County Road Commission's "Chandler Road--Coleman Road to Stoll Road" project, with Barrett as the only requester. The act became Public Law 119-75 on February 3, 2026. He voted Yea on House passage on January 22 (Roll Call 45) and on the final House vote on February 3 (Roll Call 53).

Limit: Project money is listed in the explanatory statement, not in the law's text; that is how earmarks work. The grant is paid out later by HUD, which was not checked. The release's 146 million dollar total was not checked.
