What the record shows · Dec 16, 2024

He voted for the 2014 Choice Act and the 2018 MISSION Act, which set up programs for veterans to get care from providers outside the VA. In 2024 he voted for the Dole Act, which covers access to that care, home care and help for family caregivers. He voted against the PACT Act twice in 2022; it expanded VA care for veterans exposed to burn pits and other toxins and passed 342-88.

Limit: All four laws passed with wide support. The PACT Act, which he opposed, widened who can get VA care rather than where they get it.
