Evidence timeline

What the record shows.

  1. Occurred Mar 6, 2025

    official action

Scott Perry: Matches stated record claim

He has introduced the TREAT PTSD Act in each Congress since 2020, to have the VA and Defense Department offer stellate ganglion block; no version has passed.

    Full detail

His campaign says he continues to support legislation to give veterans cutting-edge PTSD treatment. He is the sponsor of the TREAT PTSD Act and has introduced it in each Congress since January 2020, most recently as H.R. 1947 in March 2025. It would require the VA and the Defense Department to offer stellate ganglion block to veterans and service members with PTSD. None of the versions has passed. Limit: The record shows the bill, not any treatment delivered. Whether stellate ganglion block counts as cutting edge is a medical question this card does not judge.

  2. Occurred Dec 16, 2024

    official action

    Scott Perry: Matches stated direction

He voted for the 2014 Choice Act, the 2018 MISSION Act and the 2024 Dole Act, and against the 2022 PACT Act on care for toxic exposure.

    Full detail

His campaign says he continues to support legislation to give veterans and their families more health care options. He voted for the 2014 Choice Act and the 2018 MISSION Act, which set up programs for veterans to get care from providers outside the VA. In 2024 he voted for the Dole Act, which covers access to that care, home care and help for family caregivers. He voted against the PACT Act twice in 2022; it expanded VA care for veterans exposed to burn pits and other toxins and passed 342-88. Limit: All four laws passed with wide support. The PACT Act, which he opposed, widened who can get VA care rather than where they get it.

  3. Occurred Jul 24, 2017

    official action

    Scott Perry: Matches stated direction

He voted for the 2017 Forever GI Bill, which ended the time limit on using Post-9/11 benefits for some veterans and passed 405-0.

His campaign says he continues to support legislation to make the VA more accountable. In 2017 he voted for the VA Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act, which gave the VA Secretary more power to remove, demote or suspend employees. It passed 368-55 and became law. In 2014 he cosponsored the VA Management Accountability Act. Limit: The 2017 law passed with wide support. The card shows his votes and bills, not how the VA has changed.
