Her votes against the 2025 tax and spending law
What they say
In the October 7 KOIN 6 debate, Gluesenkamp Perez said she voted against the 2025 law's health care cuts, and that voting against the big budget bill that pre-funded ICE for eight years was easy.
What the record shows ·
She voted Nay when the House passed H.R. 1 on May 22, 2025, 215 to 214 (Roll Call 145), and No when the House passed the Senate's version on July 3, 2025, 218 to 214 (Roll Call 190). No Democrat voted for it either time. It became Public Law 119-21. The law makes states set work or community engagement rules for some adults on Medicaid, and gives ICE $45 billion for detention and $29.85 billion for its operations, both available through September 30, 2029.
Limit: Her votes were on the whole law, not on its health or ICE parts alone. Its ICE money is available through September 2029.
