What the 2026 Homeland Security bills did on ICE
What they say
In the October 7 KOIN 6 debate, Gluesenkamp Perez said the funding bill she voted for provided body cameras and agent ID numbers, ended ICE enforcement at schools, churches, courtrooms and hospitals, and ended an administrative removal process that did not require a judge-signed warrant.
What the record shows ·
She voted Yea on H.R. 7147 (January 22), H.R. 7744 (March 5) and H.R. 8029 (March 26), 2026. Each House-passed bill included $20 million for immigration agents' and officers' body cameras, without the claimed agent ID requirement, sensitive-location ban or judge-signed warrant requirement. The incorporated explanatory statement encouraged identifiable federal uniforms and continued ICE guidance and reporting on sensitive locations; it did not ban enforcement there. Public Law 119-86 kept the camera funding but gave the statement's ICE section no force or effect.
Limit: Her answer referred to a bill she voted for. This comparison covers those funding bills and the enacted law, excluding negotiating offers and other ICE rules. Her warrant claim concerned an administrative removal process, not every removal.
