What the record shows · Feb 3, 2026

The fiscal 2026 spending laws fund 14 local projects that name him as the requesting House member, $12.6 million in all. The House Appropriations Committee's tables for the final fiscal 2024 bills list 15 more, $13.1 million. There are none for 2025; that year's funding law said the 2024 earmark lists had no legal effect on its money. The projects include sewer, water and wastewater work in Nashville, Pasquotank County, Garysburg, Sharpsburg, Tarboro and Hertford County, street and road repairs in Grimesland and Williamston, and an emergency communications tower in Henderson.

Limit: Being the requesting member shows he asked for the money, not that he won it alone. Some of these projects, such as police equipment, fire trucks and community centers, are not roads or pipes.
