What they say

His campaign says he is working to support rural hospitals and strengthen family farms.

“He's working to support rural hospitals, strengthen family farms, and expand reliable high-speed internet”

What the record shows

In July 2025 he introduced a bill, with Republican Jack Bergman, to have Medicaid pay rural emergency hospitals as outpatient hospitals; it has not left committee. In December 2025 he introduced the Farm Transitions Act, with Republican Zach Nunn, to restart a federal commission on passing farms to the next generation. That bill sits in subcommittee, but its text passed the House on April 30, 2026 as section 12401 of the farm bill, which he voted for. The farm bill awaits the Senate.

Limit: The hospital bill shows intent, not a result, and the farm bill is not law. The broadband part was not tested.
