Evidence timeline

What the record shows.

  1. Occurred Nov 21, 2025

    official action

    Jared Moskowitz: Matches stated direction

He introduced a federal disaster reinsurance bill in 2023 and 2025 that names affordability as a goal but sets no premium cut; neither version got past committee referral.

    Full detail

His campaign says he wrote legislation to cut homeowners' property insurance premiums. He introduced the Natural Disaster Risk Reinsurance Program Act in 2023 (H.R. 3525) and again on November 21, 2025 (H.R. 6274), with no cosponsors either time. It would have the Treasury cover very large disaster losses for states that join, with the stated goal of keeping insurers solvent while keeping coverage affordable. Neither version got past referral to the Financial Services Committee. Limit: He did write the bill. The bill names affordability as a goal but sets no premium cut, and it has not had a hearing or a vote, so whether it would lower premiums is untested.

  2. Occurred Dec 23, 2020

    official action

Jared Moskowitz: Matches stated record claim

The emergency agency's 2020 review says that under him it opened Florida's first state-supported COVID-19 testing sites, coordinated vaccine distribution and led four hurricane responses.

    Full detail

His campaign says that as Florida's emergency management director he led the state's hurricane response and stood up its COVID-19 response, from testing sites to vaccine distribution. The Division of Emergency Management's own 2020 review, quoting Director Moskowitz, says it opened the first state-supported COVID-19 testing sites in March 2020, ran more than 85 at the peak, was coordinating statewide vaccine distribution by December, and led the state's response to hurricanes Isaias, Laura, Sally and Zeta. The agency named his successor after he resigned in 2021. Limit: The record is the agency's account of its own work while he ran it. The meals figure was not found in the records read.
