What the record shows ·
12 bills he introduced became law: 4 in 2021, 5 in 2022 and 3 in 2023, each with him as the only prime sponsor. Counting each enacted bill's lead sponsor, no Arizona Democrat had more from 2013 to 2026; the next was Alma Hernandez with 9. Arizona also credits co-prime sponsors. Counted that way, four Democrats had more from 2016 on (Mark Cardenas, Catherine Miranda, David Bradley and Barbara McGuire), mostly from the 2016 session; from 2017 on, none did.
Limit: This counts the lead sponsor. If co-prime sponsors count and 2016 is in his decade, four Democrats had more. Two of the 12 were rewritten on a different subject before they passed (HB 2633 in 2021, HB 2635 in 2022). A count measures volume, not importance.
